Easter Eggstravaganza
The Zoo Easter Eggstravaganza is an annual event that welcomes more than 2,000 visitors to a prize-filled fun day. More than 30,000 eggs are placed around the zoo pavilion in a series of age appropriate egg hunts. A prize can be found in the egg that can be redeemed at the prize table. This event, held Saturday prior to Easter Sunday, is presented by the Zoo Society in partnership with The Radio People.
At the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo we have many things going on from annual events to education events such as Roar and Snore Zoo Sleep-over’s.
Ride & Roar
Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the region have a great day getting together for this fund raising road rally that begins, for some, even the night before as they camp right on zoo grounds. Food and music add to this festive occasion that brings riders to a “poker run” for the zoo. Local businesses like Marsala Beverage, also get in on the action and a custom designed t-shirt is always part of the bargain.
Boo at the Zoo
Every year, on the Saturday before Halloween, the Zoo Society and zoo staff decorate the zoo for a fun, candy-packed, costumed event as a safe, family friendly alternative to trick-or-treating. In addition to “candy stations” sponsored by local businesses and organizations, there are costume contests for kids from infants to pre-teens.
