Hello! I’m Jamie Mayo, Mayor of the City of Monroe. Welcome to the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo website.
The Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo is one of northeast Louisiana’s premiere attractions with nearly 100,000 annual visitors. We are the perfect venue for your family fun day or student field trip. Our covered pavilion is perfect for a company picnic or outdoor concert. Our beautiful 80+ acre facility features animals from across the globe, including one of the rarest gibbons in the world. You can take a walk on the wild side or enjoy a boat ride as you tour our exhibits. If you’re hungry, you can grab a snack from the Flamin’ Flamingo Café. Your kids can work up a sweat on our new playscape or cool off on our 4,000 square foot ZOOasis Splash Pad.
